Overview
Welcome to Future of Food Ltd ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our websites www.futureoffood.org.uk (the "Competition Website") and www.collaborative.futureoffood.org.uk (the "Collaborative Community Website and App," hosted on Circle.so), collectively referred to as the "Services." By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services and or opt-out.
Variations of Future of Food and the Collaborative are trading names for Future of Food Ltd, registered in England and Wales, with a mailing address at The Old Kennels, Shaftesbury, Dorset, SP7 9HP, UK.
1. Intellectual Property Rights
1.1 Ownership: All content on the Services, including text, graphics, logos, images, videos and software ("Content"), is owned by Future of Food Ltd or our licensors and is protected by UK and international intellectual property laws, including the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.
1.2 Usage Restrictions: You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Services and Content for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not reproduce, redistribute, modify, or transmit Content without our prior written consent.
1.3 AI-Generated Content: As clarified by the US Copyright Office (February 2023), images sourced from platforms like Midjourney are not subject to copyright protection. Any such images used on the Services are free from copyright claims.
1.4 Competition Entries: Copyright in Future of Food Competition entries remains with the entrant. By submitting an entry, you grant Future of Food Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your photographs, media and entry details (such as entry and company description) for promotional purposes across our websites and social media.
1.5 Logos for Commended Entrants: Highly Commended or Commended entrants in the Future of Food Competition may receive a logo for use on social media, presentations or packaging. The logo must include the award year and commendation type. Unauthorised use of the logo is prohibited.
2. Use of the Services
2.1 Permitted Use: You may use the Services in accordance with these Terms for personal, non-commercial purposes. Unauthorized use may violate UK laws, including the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and may result in termination of your access.
2.2 Account Responsibilities: If you create an account on the Collaborative Community Website or App, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and all activities under your account. You must provide accurate, up-to-date information. We reserve the right to terminate accounts violating these Terms.
2.3 Prohibited Conduct: You agree not to:
Copy, distribute or share Content, including membership content, without authorisation.
Attempt unauthorised access to the Services or related systems.
Use the Services for unlawful purposes.
Engage in spam, self-promotion, harassment, racism, sexism or any degrading behaviour toward community members. Violations may result in immediate account termination without refund.
3. Future of Food Competition 2025
3.1 Eligibility:
One entry per team is permitted.
Entrants must be 18 or over unless accompanied by an adult sponsor.
Entrants must have a UK bank account for prize payment.
3.2 Competition Process:
Round 1: Submissions are due by September 26, 2025. A judging panel will select 16 finalists, notified by email by October 6, 2025.
Round 2: Finalists compete on November 27, 2025, with judges selecting the overall winner based on creativity, societal impact, scalability, and clarity of problem-solving.
3.3 Prizes:
The winning team receives an undisclosed cash grant, payable by B Mauleverer to a business bank account within 30 days of November 27, 2025, with no usage limitations.
Third-party prizes are at the discretion of third parties. Future of Food Ltd is not responsible for their quality, timeliness, or delivery. Finalists are responsible for collecting such prizes.
3.4 Publicity:
· Finalists’, winners’ and entrants’ names and photographs may be used for publicity purposes. Entry information, combined with publicly available data, may be used to create company profiles shared with attendees or subscribers on the Future of Food and Collaborative websites. You may amend or opt out of your profile by emailing desk@futureoffood.org.uk.
4. Legal Actions for Unauthorised Redistribution
We reserve the right to pursue legal action under UK law, including the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, against individuals or entities redistributing or sharing Content or membership materials without consent. Violators may face penalties, including fines or other legal remedies.
5. Payments and Refunds
5.1 Collaborative Community Deposits:
· Deposits for Collaborative Community membership are refunded only upon payment of the full membership fee. If the depositor does not convert to a full membership, the deposit is forfeited.
5.2 Money-Back Guarantee:
· Refund claims are assessed at our discretion, ensuring fairness in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
6. Third-Party Links
The Services may include links to third-party websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for their content, privacy policies or practices. You access third-party websites at your own risk and should review their terms and privacy policies.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services and Content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, to the extent permitted by UK law (Consumer Rights Act 2015). We do not guarantee that the Services will be error-free, uninterrupted or free from harmful components.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, Future of Food Ltd, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers or affiliates shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from:
Your access to or inability to use the Services;
Third-party conduct or content;
Content obtained from the Services; or
Unauthorised access or alteration of your data.
9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Services immediately, without notice or liability, for any reason, including non-payment of subscriptions or breach of these Terms. Provisions such as ownership, disclaimers and liability limitations shall survive termination.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time, with changes effective upon posting on the Services. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
