An audience of founders, investors, buyers and journos. With the backdrop of megatrends, opportunities and issues around us, how will the food industry need to innovate?
Open to existing or new entrepreneurs and ideas. Share your vision with a dazzling lineup of food industry attendees and judges at the Royal Geographical Society on November 26th, 2024.
THE FORMAT
How does it work?
We are looking for well thought through new or existing ideas to be inspired by.
Round 01
Your Future Idea
Submit your idea summary (circa 500 words) by 26 September 2024.
Finalists will be announced and invited to Round 2 at the Royal Geographic Society, London on 26 November 2024 afternoon.
Round 02
Prep & Pitch
Finalists will receive personalised mentoring, set up their pitch table with props in a 3mx3m space, and present to guests and judges from 1pm onwards.
Judges will preside over the Pitch and a popular vote will take place too.
Round 03
The Final Pitch
At 3pm, the top three pitches will present in the auditorium, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session with the judges. Media can be utilised for these presentations.
The judges will announce the Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners by 5pm.

Who should enter?
This is a unique opportunity for ambitious and creative food industry entrepreneurial minds.
Ideal applicants are either already leading or working at a food related start-up or SME or considering launching a company from scratch.
We hope for a diverse range for applicants in teams of up to 4. Ideas can be existing or new but ultimately must be realistic and commercially viable.

Why should you enter?
Be part of the Future of Food and experience pitching your idea to significant industry leaders from across UK food industry publicity, investors, environmental, food retail and M&A.
Gain exposure and recognition for your entry at the final event.
All finalists will receive a Future of Food certificate.
The winning pitch will be presented with the Ultimate Future of Food Gong 2024 and receive a £10,000 grant towards their project.
Opportunity for publicity and support through Competition partners.
Finalists will be invited to participate in exciting projects such as Barney Mauleverer’s ski expedition to the South Pole in January 2025.

Register to Enter in the form above. It’s free to enter and you will be sent a link to complete the Round 1 submission by the 26th September.

Round 1 (by 26/9/24) is a short series of questions that will include a bit about you or your company along with the idea and how you see it will work. Approximately 500 words.
If you are selected to go forward as a Finalist then you will be invited as an entrant to the Grand Final at the RGS on 26/11/24. This will start at 1pm to 5pm (the space will be available from 11am to setup).
Round 2 will require the preparation of your idea to present from a 3x3m space in the Great Hall. You may use any for of media or props to bring your idea to life. You can have up to 4 in a team. Judges and attendees will circulate the pitches. Judges will then decide on the best 3 pitches that will then go through to Final Pitch
Round 3 you will be invited to present a 4 minute pitch on stage in front of the auditorium of judges and attendee. A visual powerpoint presentation would be the best form of media.
Judges will decide on the Ultimate Winner who will be awarded the top prize.

This is an entirely FREE event for entrants and attendees. There is no financial barrier to contribute to such an important theme. Other then you time to prepare and to show up on the day there is no cost.
This event is a not for profit event and has been philanthropically supported to get it organised. Notwithstanding supporting companies may be sought to help contribute to the overheads.

The winner will be awarded a £10,000 grant and a gong for their efforts.
Finalists will each have mentorship to finesse their pitch and get to deliver it to some of the industries most influential stakeholders and each .
